Adverts are returning to Euston station's big screen
"Network Rail says that it plans a two-week trial to test advertising content on the screen's outer sections from Monday 2nd March. They say the trial was developed with feedback from customers and stakeholders, drawing on lessons learned when the full-width screen was first introduced in 2024 and swiftly turned off following an outcry about its effects."
"Some of the changes being applied include adverts that do not cause distraction and adhere to neurodiversity guidance, and they will dial down the brightness to maintain a comfortable concourse environment. The central section of the screen will be retained for departure and customer information and won't show adverts."
"In related news, Euston station will soon get a new customer service hub on the station concourse, and they will be adding a lot more seating on the main concourse, mostly near platforms 4-7. Those works will be carried out over the next couple of months."
Network Rail plans a two-week trial of advertising on Euston station's outer screen sections starting March 2nd. The trial incorporates customer and stakeholder feedback following the 2024 full-width screen controversy. Key improvements include non-distracting adverts aligned with neurodiversity guidance and reduced brightness levels. The central screen section remains dedicated to departure and customer information without advertisements. Additional station improvements include a new customer service hub, increased seating near platforms 4-7, removal of freestanding departure screens, and restoration of original 1960s floor tiles.
