Harrods has been targeted by hackers in a cyber attack that prompted the luxury department store to restrict internet access across its sites. The attack follows similar incidents at Marks & Spencer and The Co-Op. A spokesperson for Harrods confirmed the attempts for unauthorized access and mentioned that the IT security team took immediate action to protect their systems. Despite the attack, all Harrods stores, including their flagship Knightsbridge location and various other outlets, continue to operate normally and customers are encouraged to shop as usual.
We recently experienced attempts to gain unauthorised access to some of our systems. Our seasoned IT security team immediately took proactive steps to keep systems safe.
As a result we have restricted internet access at our sites today. Currently all sites including our Knightsbridge store, H beauty stores and airport stores remain open.
