A burst water main in north London caused approximately 40cm of flooding, displacing about 30 residents. The London Fire Brigade responded with 10 fire engines and around 70 firefighters. Residents are advised to avoid specific areas and driving through flood water. Thames Water is working to halt the leak and will locate and repair the damage. By Monday morning, some areas had no water supply, while others faced low pressure, impacting local traffic and travel.
About 30 residents have been forced to leave their homes following a burst water main in north London, flooding some areas with approximately 40cm of water.
The London Fire Brigade deployed 10 fire engines and about 70 firefighters to the incident in Islington at approximately 22:00 BST.
Thames Water is actively working to stop the flow of water from the burst pipe and will subsequently focus on repairing the damage.
Some areas reported no water supply on Monday morning, while others experienced low pressure, impacting local traffic and journeys.
