Despite a heavy police presence and a number of arrests, including two non-life threatening stabbings, police said the event passed as a safer event for all. As of 7.45pm on Monday, the number of arrests on day two was 223, with 177 at Carnival itself and 46 on the approaches to the event. The number of arrests on Sunday was 200, with 149 at Carnival itself and 51 on the approaches to the event.
