Colin the Caterpillar cake, a British favorite for 35 years, was rated the worst in a taste test against eight competitors, scoring only 64%. Nearly half of the testers found Colin's sponge too dry. In contrast, Waitrose's Cecil cake won with a score of 78%. Colin also had the highest sugar and fat content among the cakes tested and was one of the most expensive. Despite his popularity, experts suggest there are better alternatives available in the market.
