Mayfield Lavender is located 20 minutes from Croydon and spans 25 acres. Opened in 2006 by Brendan and Lorna after their redundancy, it started as a small lavender field. They grew and sold lavender before opening a second site in Epsom in 2011. The farm produces three types of lavender organically and features several Instagram-friendly backdrops. Visitors can take tours, enjoy picnic areas, and participate in events, while children can ride a tractor around the field.
Driving from the modern built-up streets of Croydon you wouldn't expect to find a 25-acre lavender field just 20 minutes away in a farm in Banstead.
Mayfield Lavender has become somewhat of an Instagram hotspot over the last few years, with people from across the world visiting to take photos.
The field produces three types of English Lavender - Folgate, Maillette, and the hybrid Grosso, adopting an organic approach with no pesticides.
The lavender field features several Instagram backdrops, most notably the telephone box as well as the red tractor and wicker heart bench to take photos of.
