Three new species of bee discovered at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
Briefly

A recent Bioblitz at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, formerly an industrial wasteland, resulted in the discovery of several new species, including three types of bees and a hyper-parasitic wasp. The event documented a total of 67 bee species and 82 bird species, illustrating the park's biodiversity. The park, a major urban development post-2012 Olympics, has transformed into a rich ecosystem, now home to otters, eels, and various plants and animals. Ecologists emphasize the rapid recovery of biodiversity in the area as a remarkable achievement.
"I have been really surprised at the biodiversity that's been achieved here in such a short time especially considering how polluted a lot of the ground here was before the London 2012 Games."
"The results of bringing together different expertise from our teams that include landscape architects, ecologists and botanists cannot be underestimated; we've turned a derelict site into an urban oasis."
