The Caledonian Clock Tower, after extensive restoration, opened to the public in 2019. Recently, the Islington Guides have resumed tours, charging admission to cover costs post-funding expiration. These tours offer insights into London’s meat markets and allow visitors to view the historic pendulum clock, older than Big Ben. Currently, three tour dates are available: June 24, June 26, and August 29, with more dates to be announced. The tower is accessible within a short walk from public transport stations in the area, enhancing its appeal as a tourist attraction.
The Islington Guides have taken over offering paid tours of the Caledonian Clock Tower, covering the history of London's meat markets and providing unique views from the top.
Climbers can now see the interior of the pendulum clock, which predates Big Ben, adding historical value to the experience offered during tours.
