Getdown Services announce new album, share "I Can't Die Like That"
Getdown Services, a Bristol UK duo, announced their album Massive Champion for release on August 14 via Breakfast Records. Benjamin Sadler and Joshua Law produced the album themselves, mostly at home. They describe the sound as less aggressive and less chaotic. The album includes the previously released single “The Radiator” and a newly shared second single, “I Can’t Die Like That.” The song centers on how simple experiences can become complicated, including the difficulty of dying and the tendency to cling to comforting but unhealthy feelings. The duo also performed “The Radiator” on BBC’s Later With Jools Holland and shared videos for both singles. They recently completed a sold-out North American tour and will play Meltdown Festival, followed by a fall UK/IE tour.
"“I Can't Die Like That' is about the feeling of simple things becoming complicated. We thought it was interesting to think about the ways in which something as straightforward as dying can be difficult. It's also about clinging on to feelings that comfort you but aren't necessarily healthy.”"
"“Massive Champion” will be out August 14 via Breakfast Records. Benjamin Sadler and Joshua Law produced it themselves, “mostly at home,” and say it's “a bit less aggy, a bit less poo.”"
"The album includes this year's great “ The Radiator,” and they've just shared a second single. You can watch the videos for “I Can't Die Like That” and “The Radiator” below. Getdown Services also just performed “The Radiator” on long-running BBC music series Later With Jools Holland and you can watch that below, too."
