Lin-Manuel Miranda has confirmed a special "Ham4Ham" performance to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Hamilton, featuring Jinkx Monsoon and Darren Criss. Scheduled for May 13 outside the Richard Rodgers Theatre, the event will return the performance element to the original daily lottery scheme that offered fans front-row seats. Alongside Monsoon and Criss, cast members from Buena Vista Social Club will also participate. For those unable to attend in person, the show will be livestreamed on Hamilton's official Instagram account. The UK tour of Hamilton is ongoing, currently in Liverpool until June.
"It's #Hamilten, it's been an amazing theatre season, and it's nice out, let's have a #Ham4Ham show," Miranda wrote on Instagram alongside a photoshopped image of the announced stars outside a Hamilton show.
This year, the performance aspect appears to be returning with a cast featuring RuPaul's Drag Race favourite Monsoon, who is currently starring in Pirates! The Penzance Musical and Maybe Happy Ending star and Tony Award nominee Criss joining the line-up.
Originally, the scheme was a daily lottery to win front-row seats to Miranda's Broadway production. As part of the annual launch, cast members from Hamilton and fellow performers from sister productions would perform outside the venue as hopefuls drew from the ticket lottery.
For those who are unable to attend in person, Miranda confirmed that they will livestream the show from Hamilton's official Instagram account.
