"At its peak, XOYO in Shoreditch was one of the best nightclubs in London, playing host to residencies from the likes of Benji B, Andy C, Artwork, Bradley Zero, Skream, Bicep and The Blessed Madonna. However the club struggled to maintain that level of cultural relevance post-pandemic and declined in popularity as it became a more commercial venue. At the end of last year, XOYO (along with other London venue The Camden Assembly) was acquired by the newly formed Propaganda Independent Venues group,"
"By acquiring the Shoreditch club, the group wanted to help it thrive under independent ownership and become a cultural hub for the area, offering opportunities and support to local artists and businesses. Kirk Allen, who operates the Warehouse and the Green Room in Leeds and Rise Festival in the Alps, is the new owner. He's completely overhauling XOYO in an effort to bring it back to the underground, including adding new light installations, a new sound system, a new stage configuration, new booths"
XOYO in Shoreditch hosted high-profile residencies from Benji B, Andy C, Artwork, Bradley Zero, Skream, Bicep and The Blessed Madonna at its peak. The club lost cultural relevance after the pandemic and became more commercial, leading to declining popularity. Late last year Propaganda Independent Venues, led by Dan Ickowitz-Seidler and Richard Buck, acquired XOYO alongside The Camden Assembly. The group sought to return XOYO to independent ownership and create a cultural hub offering opportunities and support to local artists and businesses. New owner Kirk Allen has initiated a complete overhaul, upgrading lights, sound, stage configuration, booths and decor. Programming includes an opening party on 31 January 2026, weekly parties and live shows.
