Son Lux Prep New Album and World Tour
Son Lux, the experimental indie-rock trio of Ryan Lott, Rafiq Bhatia, and Ian Chang, is returning with a world tour and a new album titled Out Into, arriving September 18 via This Is Meru/City Slang. The lead single “Endlessly” is included on the album and was originally commissioned by the Bluecoats, an Ohio-based marching ensemble. The band connected the track to the album’s themes of paradoxes and refined spontaneity. The group emphasizes going further in energy, attitude, and color while treating early voice memo ideas as the most sacred versions. Out Into includes eight tracks: Want You to Love, Out Into Us, Endlessly, Even If it Hurts, You Could Be the One, Summer's Gone, Apparition, and No God Like a King.
"Endlessly was originally commissioned by the Bluecoats, an Ohio-based marching ensemble. Son Lux realized the song not only fit on their next LP, but that it was in line with the record's themes of paradoxes and refined spontaneity. We're going places we've never gone before in terms of energy, attitude, color, Lott said of Out Into. And it all comes from having reverence for those initial sparks, for treating the voice memo version of the idea as the most sacred iteration."
