Take That review stadium redux of Circus tour has maximal razzle-dazzle
In 2018, Take That released Odyssey, a Stuart Price-produced re-imagining of their greatest hits. Gary Barlow described the band as a legacy act focused more on ticket sales than streams, while still planning a tour for 600,000 people. Eight years later, the group sidestepped studio work and lightly re-imagined the entire 2009 Circus tour. The original Circus run became the fastest-selling UK stadium tour, generating over £40m profit. The reboot keeps most of the setlist, replaces Wooden Boat’s lead with Babe, and uses “You’re a Superstar” as a toilet-break moment. The show features a B-stage with shooting water fountains and a mechanical elephant that carries them to the Big Top main stage, supported by dancers and large-scale spectacle.
