They feel cleansed, they cry some really don't like it!' The 12-hour psychedelic theatre-rave Trance
Briefly

Trance is an immersive performance created by Tianzhuo Chen, featuring naked performers covered in paint interacting with fur, feathers, and petaled visuals. The experience is inspired by electronic music, rave culture, Buddhism, and Japanese Butoh dance theatre. Initially created for a solo exhibition in 2019 at M Woods Museum, it has condensed into a single 12-hour-long production. The show celebrates east and southeast Asian arts as part of Southbank Centre's ESEA Encounters, marking an artistic homecoming for Chen, who has roots in London's club culture.
