Laura Coleman-Day completed the London Marathon in her wedding dress on the anniversary of her husband Xander's death, raising funds for blood cancer research. Xander passed away from complications related to acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. The widow, 33, ran alongside her friend, Kate Walford, honoring both of their late loved ones. Their shared goal was to support the Anthony Nolan charity. Coleman-Dayâs journey included wearing her wedding dress for the last three miles as a tribute to her husband, creating a memorable and emotional experience despite the marathon's challenges.
"I thought what better way to honour the day and honour him..." Coleman-Day told the BBC.
"Despite the harsh conditions of the heat, we had the most amazing day meeting many other inspirational runners," Coleman-Day said.
