David Eldridge's adaptation of John Le Carré's classic 1963 spy novel, 'The Spy Who Came In from the Cold', is poised to make its debut at @sohoplace following a successful run at the Chichester Festival Theatre. The play presents Cold War spy Alec Leamas, portrayed by Rory Keenan, as he navigates complex allegiances and personal relationships during his final assignment. With acclaimed direction by Jeremy Herrin and strong performances, including Agnes O'Casey as Liz Gold, this adaptation promises to bring a fresh perspective to one of the most iconic spy narratives.
John Le Carré's 1963 book 'The Spy Who Came In from the Cold' is quite probably the greatest spy novel of all time and certainly one of the greatest works of English literature to come out of the Cold War.
Written by veteran playwright David Eldridge and directed by heavyweight former Headlong boss Jeremy Herrin, this inaugural stage version of 'The Spy Who Came in from the Cold' scored great notices at the prestigious Chichester Festival Theatre.
