A 29-year-old man, Dontae Smicle, has been charged with the murder of Hamza Iqbal, who was fatally stabbed in Wembley in September 2023. Three other men had previously been sentenced to a total of 77 years for their involvement in the murder. An investigation began on September 24 after police received reports of a stabbing. Hamza Iqbal was found with serious injuries and later died in the hospital. A post-mortem indicated that the cause of death was sharp force trauma to the chest. Smicle was extradited from Turkey to face charges in the UK.
Three men were already jailed last summer for the murder. Ali Al-Amiri, 21, Joshua Oladele, 20, both of Wyld Way in Brent, and Micah Hines, 21, of Victoria Avenue in Brent, were given a total of 77 years.

A post-mortem examination took place on September 27, 2023 and gave a preliminary cause of death as sharp force trauma to the chest.
An investigation was launched on September 24, 2023, when police were called shortly after 11pm to reports of a stabbing in Olympic Way in Wembley.
