In north London, vandalism has severely affected Brunswick Park Primary and Church Hill Primary, racking up over £200,000 in security costs. The schools experienced multiple attacks where windows were shattered using stones and a hammer, resulting in boarded-up classrooms and distress among staff, parents, and students. Despite the Metropolitan Police investigating the incidents, the attackers remain unidentified. Both schools are implementing patrols and monitoring systems to enhance security, amidst ongoing community unrest regarding the repeated attacks.
The attacks have caused huge distress to staff, parents and pupils, resulting in children being taught in boarded-up classrooms.
It's upsetting for the staff and it's horribly upsetting for the children and our local community. There is a feeling of unrest now.
