After struggling with ongoing symptoms from Covid-19 in March 2020, she identified that many others shared her experience—a realization not yet recognized by healthcare professionals. Ondine founded Long Covid SOS and vigorously campaigned for the condition's acknowledgment, lobbying government figures and participating in media discussions. Her efforts contributed to Long Covid being accepted as a clinical entity, significantly raising public awareness and securing involvement in the UK's Covid inquiry.
Ondine's drive and vision in recognising the emergent picture of Long Covid and her determination to do something was prescient, bold, and totally in character.
