Samantha Davis, wife of actor Warwick Davis, passed away from an arrhythmic cardiac arrest shortly before she was scheduled to be discharged from University College Hospital. An inquest revealed she underwent multiple thoracotomy surgeries following complications from achondroplasia, which caused spinal cord compression. Although her condition improved, she went into cardiac arrest the night before her discharge. The coroner noted the excellent care provided during her hospital stay, attributing her unexpected death to the stress of her medical condition and surgeries, rather than any negligence in her treatment.
"I am satisfied that the medical cause of death should be arrhythmic cardiac arrest and complications following left thoracotomies."
