Residents are voicing strong opposition to Peter Dubens' proposed mega-basement project in Chelsea, which aims to transform his mansion into an extravagant entertainment complex. The underground expansion could lead to significant disruption, with opponents concerned about the impact of construction, including noise, pollution, and increased traffic. The project aims to create a luxury cinema, a bar, a therapy room, and a golf simulator, raising questions about excess and community respect as locals contend with the potential chaos it may bring to their neighborhood over the projected two-year construction period.
This is nothing more than one man's appalling vanity project. Mr Dubens clearly has absolutely no regard for the disruption his basement will cause. It is the epitome of opulence and arrogance. Why does one man need so much? He clearly doesn't care one jot about anyone else.
The development and the excavation works of such an enormous scale will be detrimental to the community. The impact of increased levels of traffic, noise and dust pollution will be unbearable for the neighbourhood.
