Chinese art collector to open non-profit in London devoted to contemporary Asian art
Briefly

Yan Du, a Chinese art collector and philanthropist, is set to launch the Yan Du Projects (YDP), a non-profit venue in Bloomsbury, London, focusing on Asian artists. Located in a historic Grade I-listed townhouse, YDP will host exhibitions, public events, and artist residencies. This initiative reflects Yan’s commitment to promoting the arts, building on her previous work with the Asymmetry Art Foundation. By choosing Bedford Square, a cultural hub, she aims to foster connections within the artistic community and support Asian diasporic narratives in contemporary art.
"Supporting artists is something I've always been very passionate about," Yan says. "I really enjoy speaking with artists and curating exhibitions."
"Bedford Square is a cultural and intellectual hub—we are neighbours with the Paul Mellon Centre, publishers and the AA, and it used to be home to the Bloomsbury Group."
