Gemini Trains plans to introduce Uber-branded trains at Stratford International, aiming to break Eurostar's monopoly on Channel Tunnel services. Passengers will be able to book tickets via the Uber app. This service would connect London to Paris and Brussels and marks the first international operations from Stratford International since its inception. Although facilities for customs and passport checks were initially lacking, this omission allows for a modern setup. The CEO emphasizes the partnership with Uber as innovative and valuable, with the anticipated launch aiming for 2030, contingent on various regulatory approvals.
Innovation and value are at the very heart of what we do so it's really exciting to be teaming up with Uber, an instantly recognisable global brand which has revolutionised the travel industry.
These would, therefore, be the first international services to use Stratford International station since it was built, as it has only ever been used for Southeastern's Javellin high-speed domestic train services.
