Shohei Ohtani is currently in a gradual ramp-up process as a starting pitcher with the Dodgers. He has made four starts since his return, pitching one inning in two games and two innings in the others. Manager Dave Roberts indicated that reaching five to six innings of work is a feasible goal, although a timeline is uncertain. The team aims to minimize injury risk due to Ohtani's importance. A fully healthy Ohtani pitching deeper into games could significantly benefit the team by easing bullpen reliance.
If you look at where he's at now with the calendar, I think that him getting to five, six innings is certainly feasible. Don't know when that's going to be, but I can see a natural progression.
In a rehab progression, it's really important to just take one step at a time. There are times when I may be able to go another inning, but it's really important to not take unnecessary risk and make sure that I can progress consistently.
