E.C. Robinson, age 80, returned to support his sons at University High, where Bryan is head coach and Jason is offensive coordinator, while E.C. serves as a consultant. The Robinsons rebuilt a program that had fewer than 25 players three years ago into a roster of more than 70 and reinstated a junior varsity team. Bryan conducts outreach at Emerson Middle School, teaching fundamentals because many players lack youth football experience. Coaching staff includes former UCLA All-American Bruce Davis. The staff emphasizes development and technique to elevate athletes to higher competition. The team opened with a 21-19 win over Lincoln.
