State statistics report 1,907 bodies found in Guadalajara and nearby cities between 2018 and March of the current year. A government campaign promoting Zapopan as the heart of soccer has been met with families’ sarcastic responses referencing clandestine graves, with dozens of graves and hundreds of remains found since January 2025, including several near Akron Stadium and La Minerva.
