Astros Re-Sign Jordan Weems To Minor League Deal

The Astros re-signed reliever Jordan Weems to a minor league contract, placing him back in Triple-A Sugar Land. After electing free agency, Weems had a brief MLB stint where he made two appearances, tossing three innings and allowing two runs. Earlier in the year, he posted a 5.09 ERA in 17 2/3 innings with Atlanta’s Triple-A team. His combined stats over 29 innings reflect a 4.66 ERA with a strikeout rate of 21.4% and a walk rate over 12%. Weems is out of options and was outrighted off the 40-man roster.
