The Glendale Desert Dogs lost both Arizona Fall League matchups against the Surprise Saguaros, 6-3 and 6-4. Josh Kasevich hit cleanup, drew multiple walks, moved a runner to third with a groundball and delivered a sacrifice fly that produced the Desert Dogs' third run. Alex Amalfi struck out three of the first four batters for a scoreless inning but was charged with two earned runs across two and two-thirds innings after allowing singles and issuing walks that led to stolen-base-driven runs. Amalfi's fastball averaged 93.8 mph, topped at 94.8, and generated eight whiffs on 18 swings.

He ran into some trouble in the second inning, walking a batter, who proceeded to steal second and was cashed in thanks to an RBI single. In his third and final inning, Amalfi allowed back-to-back singles, with the second cashing in a second run for the Saguaros, thanks to a stolen base."

In his second plate appearance in the top of the third, he drew a six-pitch walk, and then walked on four pitches in the top of the fifth. The shortstop's final plate appearance came in the top of the seventh, hitting a sacrifice fly to bring in the Desert Dogs' third run of the game."
