Braves claim George Soriano, designate Brett Wisely
"This afternoon, the Atlanta Braves announced that they have claimed right-handed pitcher George Soriano off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles and have designed infielder Brett Wisely for assignment. Soriano, 26, pitched parts of three seasons with the Miami Marlins, debuting in 2023. He was claimed by Baltimore off waivers from Miami on November 5, 2025. He pitched in 72 career games."
"Wisely was claimed off waivers by Atlanta from the San Francisco Giants last September and appeared in four games with the Braves, going hitless in plate appearances but drawing three walks. The Orioles and Braves have had quite the cat-and-mouse of claiming and waiving pitchers in the last six months. Time will tell if Soriano, who has worked almost exclusively out of the bullpen, sticks with the Braves or not."
