The Dodgers recalled Paul Gervase from Triple-A Oklahoma City and optioned Alexis Díaz before a game against the Colorado Rockies. Gervase was acquired in a three-team trade that also brought Ben Rortvedt and Adam Serinowski to Los Angeles, and this marks his second addition to the active roster since the deal. Gervase posted a 3.12 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and averaged 14.06 strikeouts per nine innings in 28 games for Triple-A Durham. He had limited major-league action with the Rays, striking out five over 6.1 innings while issuing five walks. Díaz had a 5.00 ERA in nine Dodgers games after being acquired from the Reds and is working on mechanical adjustments to regain his previous performance level.

The 25-year-old had joined the Rays just over one month before the trade and pitched to a 4.56 ERA in five appearances. Gervase struck out five batters over 6.1 innings, but also walked five. Gervase was drafted by the New York Mets in the 12th round in 2022, but made his MLB debut with the Rays this season.
