Sources: Snitker won't return as Braves manager
"I've teetered on the fence (about retirement),"
"I've never been through this before. I wasn't sure how to navigate it. I've talked to a lot of people who have been through it who got some good advice. I've just tried to stay in the moment and focus on today ... As we're sitting here right now, I still feel good."
"Brave for life"
Brian Snitker will not return as manager of the Atlanta Braves and will transition to a senior advisory role after informing the club of his decision. Snitker guided the Braves to the 2021 World Series championship and had been with the organization as a player, coach and manager since 1977. His managerial contract expired after nine seasons, which concluded with a 76–86 record and the team's first postseason absence since 2017. General manager Alex Anthopoulos characterized Snitker as a "Brave for life." Snitker expressed uncertainty about retirement but cited encouragement from a late-season 10-game winning streak.
