Man City defender Dias signs deal to 2029
Briefly

Rúben Dias, 28, has signed a two-year contract extension with Manchester City that runs until 2029, with an option for an additional year. His previous deal had been due to expire in 2027. Dias joined City from Benfica in 2020 for a reported £65m and was named Premier League Player of the Year after his first season. He has contributed to four league titles, the Champions League, the EFL Cup and the FA Cup across five years at the Etihad. Club contract attention is expected to turn to John Stones and Bernardo Silva, while Ilkay Gundogan and Ederson have less than 12 months remaining. Rodri, Phil Foden, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake have two years left, and Rico Lewis is close to signing a new five-year deal.
I am incredibly happy today, I love Manchester - it is my home now - and I love the Manchester City fans. When I think about the trophies we have won and the way we have played our football during my time here, I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else.
