Viktor Gyokeres is driven by a desire for revenge after not playing in the Premier League despite joining Brighton in 2017. He has excelled since joining Coventry City, scoring 43 goals in 116 matches before being transferred to Sporting CP, where he has scored a league-high 29 goals in his first season and 39 the next. Currently attracting interest from Manchester United and Arsenal, he emphasizes the importance of feeling valued over transfer fees. Gyokeres holds the top scoring position in Europe's leagues for the 2023-24 season with 68 goals.
"It's one of the biggest leagues in Europe. I spent several years there without being able to play a single match. So, of course, it's something I would like to do. It would be great revenge."
Gyokeres has a €100m release clause in his contract, but reports have suggested Arsenal are willing to offer around €70m for him.
The most important thing for me is to play for a club that really wants me."
Gyokeres' recent form has seen him become one of the top strikers in Europe. Indeed, his 68 league goals since the start of 2023-24 are the most of any player in Europe's top 10 leagues.
