"There's a lot of quality, you play for trophies there [at Galatasaray], and Senne could perhaps immediately make his mark in the Champions League,"
"I was initially sceptical about a move to United, because many players there had already succumbed to the pressure and couldn't reach their full potential."
"Ultimately, it was Senne who had to make the decision," Lammens' brother added. "United gave him the best feeling. Partly because Tony Coton, United's goalkeeping scout, had been following him for almost a year and was very convinced of his qualities. It would also be great if the club could return to its former glory and if Senne could contribute to that."
Senne Lammens completed a deadline-day move to Manchester United for €21 million plus add-ons. His brother Tom Lammens expressed skepticism, saying a move to Galatasaray could have offered immediate trophies and Champions League exposure. Tom noted concern about the pressure at United and past players failing to reach potential, but added that United made Senne feel right, partly due to scout Tony Coton's long-term interest. United started Altay Bayindir ahead of Lammens in the Manchester derby, which Manchester City won 3-0. United have one win from four games and face Chelsea next.
