Amad Diallo delivered a strong wing-back performance, supplying the assist for the opener and contributing at both ends. Harry Maguire received high praise for strong defensive displays and the match-winning header. Matthijs de Ligt was solid while Luke Shaw remained partly unconvincing in a back three. Diogo Dalot struggled on the left, Casemiro worked effectively though was booked, and Bruno Fernandes created multiple chances.
