Manchester United are targeting Atalanta midfielder Ederson as their first signing since Michael Carrick became permanent manager. Reports indicate United are close to agreeing a fee of around £38 million including add-ons, with Ederson having already agreed personal terms. Ederson has made 180 appearances for Atalanta since joining from Salernitana in 2022 and contributed to their 2024 Europa League success, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists. Atalanta left him out of the Serie A finale against Fiorentina due to his impending move. He has three Brazil caps and was not selected for the 2026 World Cup squad.
