The plan calls for migrating Hulu content and features into the Disney+ platform, potentially completing by the end of 2026. The memo reportedly states that the Hulu tech stack and app will be decommissioned after all users transition to Disney’s platform. Tech employees cited by Business Insider claimed Hulu was not receiving much investment in new features or development. Disney has also signaled plans to unify Hulu and Disney+ into a single app. If the Hulu app disappears, Disney may still offer separate subscriptions and bundles to preserve revenue and avoid forcing all Hulu users to upgrade to include Disney+ content.
