Creators of WondLa' talk Season 2 of this heartfelt animated series Metro Philadelphia
Briefly

The much-anticipated second season of Apple TV+'s 'WondLa' premieres on April 25, continuing the adaptation of Tony DiTerlizzi's book trilogy. The series follows Eva, the last human, as she navigates a vibrant, post-apocalyptic world. In a recent interview, DiTerlizzi expressed excitement about the creative collaboration with Skydance Animation, emphasizing the importance of thematic contrasts, particularly between sterile environments and wild spaces. As the show evolves into its second season, the creators are eager to present new settings like New Attica, which promise to explore deeper themes and innovative interpretations of the storyline.
The great thing about Bobs and everybody at Skydance Animation was their openness to hear what the important aspects of the story were.
I was more like, it's merely about a contrast. It's this antiseptic, sterile environment, this lab that she grows up in, and then the contrast of that with the wild space alien world.
I think we used the same approach in the second season. The human city, New Attica, was one of the settings I was most excited to see.
Fantasy can be a vehicle to look at themes and issues we deal with in our own lives.
