Defector will run a ten-week editorial internship in Summer 2026 for college students. Interns will collaborate with staff on reporting projects and may contribute to social media, newsletters, and podcasts. A small mentorship group of staffers will teach subscription business operations, help brainstorm coverage, and guide editorial development. Applicants should understand Defector's editorial voice, show passion for specific beats, and express interest in the site's business structure and future internship design. Eligible interns receive a free year-long subscription.
