The Healthy Minds Survey at Harvard in spring 2025 had a 25 percent response rate with over 5,900 undergraduate and graduate students completing the 25-minute instrument. The survey measured anxiety, depression, disordered eating, suicidality, binge drinking, sense of belonging, loneliness, isolation, awareness of campus resources, and barriers to access. Harvard students scored better than national averages on mental health measures, sense of belonging, and awareness and utilization of support services. University administrators identified remaining opportunities to increase awareness of specific mental health resources and to strengthen social connections among students. The survey implementation follows recommendations from the 2020 Task Force on Managing Student Mental Health.
