The incident began after a multi-car pile-up near Northwest 125th Street. A motorcyclist, Derick Blaine Flores, identified Sanders as the shooter, describing how bullets were fired at him as he approached Sanders' vehicle. After the crash, Sanders failed to comply with law enforcement and exhibited paranoid behavior. He was eventually arrested and taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash, with a firearm later found on a nearby vehicle.
