The Dolphins signed outside linebacker Matthew Judon to a one-year contract valued at up to $6 million. Coach Mike McDaniel stated that the team’s interest in Judon was not related to injury concerns with current players. Judon joins a training camp standout group of outside linebackers, enhancing the Dolphins' defensive depth. Last year, the Dolphins' pass rush struggled, finishing 27th in the league with only 35 sacks, necessitating Judon's addition following previous injuries to key players.
"We're visiting for the sake of seeing if there's a situation that both parties would be able to come into an agreement of, 'Hey, this is a situation that fits,'" he said.
"Last season, the Dolphins ranked 27th in the NFL with 35 sacks -- 16 of which came from Robinson and defensive tackle Zach Sieler. But Chubb missed the entire 2024 season while Phillips missed all but four games."
