Stefanski downplays Gabriel getting first QB reps
Briefly

The Cleveland Browns' rookie minicamp highlighted the beginning of the quarterback competition between Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel, drafted in the fifth and third rounds respectively. Coach Kevin Stefanski noted that the evaluation will be comprehensive over the upcoming months, indicating that initial practices shouldn't be over-interpreted. Both Sanders and Gabriel had solid performances but have significant areas for improvement as the team prepares for the veterans' integration. The competition is set against a backdrop of established quarterbacks including Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett.
"I wouldn't look into, really, anything," Stefanski said after the Browns' first rookie minicamp practice. "I think you'll see the whole weekend, going through the spring, we don't pay too close attention to who's in there first."
"They were as advertised," Stefanski said. "I thought both guys did a really nice job, and there's so much to work on. It's the minutiae of the position."
