All of South Florida is currently under a flood watch until Tuesday morning due to heavy rainfall forecasts. The National Weather Service in Miami predicts that regions in Miami-Dade and Broward can expect 3 to 6 inches of rain, with some areas potentially receiving over 8 inches. Residents are advised to stay alert for weather warnings and exercise caution, especially when driving in flood-prone areas. Additionally, Miami Beach has opened several parking garages for residents to help mitigate potential flooding issues.
"Some areas could see 8 inches or more today, tonight and part of tomorrow," said NWS Miami meteorologist Robert Molleda.
"Many times the water can be deeper than it looks," Molleda said.
The city of Miami Beach issued a flood watch Monday morning, which will remain in effect until 8 a.m. Tuesday.
A Flood Watch will be in effect through 8AM Tuesday . Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks and other low-lying, flood-prone locations.
