"Sandy Cay is a natural extension of our vision for private destinations. When we opened Ocean Cay in 2019, our goal was to give guests an experience that's authentic to the Bahamas and reflects the region's natural beauty."
"Seven years later, more people-both from MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys-are visiting Ocean Cay than ever before, which makes this the perfect time to build Sandy Cay and expand the fantastic experience our guests love so much."
"The company said it also plans to introduce a new MSC Foundation marine conservation experience complete with immersive, hands-on experiences, from coral restoration and scientific discovery to interactive exploration of ocean ecosystems."
Sandy Cay, a new private island by MSC Group, will open in 2028 next to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. Designed for MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys guests, it features aragonite sand, known for its purity. The island complements Ocean Cay, enhancing the authentic Bahamian experience. MSC is also upgrading Ocean Cay with new dining options, an adults-only beach, and family-friendly amenities. A marine conservation experience will be introduced, focusing on coral restoration and ocean ecosystem exploration, available starting late next year.
