Whisper Owen and her 8-month-old daughter, Sandra McCarty, have been missing for more than 10 days since being last seen on July 15. They were spotted in Atwater, over 60 miles from their last known location. The family is desperate, as Owen's car is not on traffic cameras and her phone is off. Vickie Torres, Owen's mother, is concerned about the lack of progress in finding them. The family has conducted searches and remains hopeful for their safe return before it’s too late.
Vickie Torres stated, "She was here for a doctor's appointment for the baby. We had a wonderful visit." This was the last time she saw her daughter and granddaughter.
Owen was last seen driving a silver 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer with California license plate 9-L-K-H-0-0-8 and has a missing driver's side headlight.
Vickie Torres expressed her fears, saying, "The not knowing, it's brought me to a point where I'm- it's a cross between anger and numb. I'm terrified. I'm just terrified."
Andrea McCarty mentioned, "Her car is no longer popping up on any traffic cams. Her phone's been off. Your mind goes through all the terrible possibilities."
