Dominiq Ponder, a 23-year-old Colorado Buffaloes quarterback, died early Sunday morning in a single-car crash near Boulder. While driving a 2023 Tesla, he lost control on a curve, struck a guardrail and an electrical pole, then rolled down an embankment. Speed is suspected as a contributing factor. Coach Deion Sanders offered players the option to skip Monday's spring practice, but after an emergency team meeting Sunday night to grieve together, everyone chose to practice. Players honored Ponder by breaking huddles with the chant of his name, finding comfort in his memory. Teammates shared stories about his dedication, work ethic, and leadership.
