"They took a lot of one of one, high-end merchandise. So, basically brands like Chrome Hearts and St. Laurent, a lot of custom pieces. They were just dropping them off the balcony, and someone was running it to the car. It felt kind of like the movies."
"They were in and out of the store in four and a half minutes. And 91 seconds later, the NYPD was here."
"The men disguised themselves as construction workers, complete with hard hats and a ladder, while the others served as lookouts. The robbers then proceeded to toss luxury items out a window and over a balcony to get into the car."
Abdallah Diaby, a model represented by NYC agency TWO MGMT, was arrested on February 19 for his involvement in a December 1 robbery at 4Gseller boutique in SoHo. Four perpetrators stole approximately $1 million in high-end merchandise including Saint Laurent jackets, handbags, belts, and custom pieces from brands like Chrome Hearts. The robbers disguised themselves as construction workers with hard hats and a ladder, dropping items from a balcony into a waiting silver Ford SUV. The entire operation took four and a half minutes. Security footage connected Diaby to the crime. He was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court and released on supervision without bail, while three other suspects remain at large.
