An 11-year-old girl from South Devon died after being pulled from the water at Wacker Quay near Torpoint, Cornwall. Meanwhile, a body was found in the River Swale in North Yorkshire during a search for a missing 12-year-old boy, who was reported to have entered the river earlier. Emergency services were called to Wacker Quay on the Lynher River near Torpoint, Cornwall, at about 6pm on Saturday after being alerted about a person in the water, police said. Officers said the girl, from South Devon, was recovered and given emergency treatment but was confirmed dead at the scene.
North Yorkshire police said a body had been recovered from the River Swale in Richmond at 10.45pm on Saturday during a search for a missing 12-year-old boy. Police launched a search after reports that the boy had entered the river at about 5pm.
