"aren't looking good for him at half-time"
"Thomas Butler, a pensioner who gave DJ Carey €16,360 for the cancer treatment he claimed to desperately need, lost both of his own parents to the disease."
"As a "true Kilkenny supporter" all his life, a picture of Mr Butler with his former idol used to hang proudly in the house."
A Kilkenny fan accompanied All Star hurler DJ Carey to court and commented that things "aren't looking good for him at half-time" as the case was adjourned for sentencing. Pensioner Thomas Butler donated €16,360 to Carey for cancer treatment Carey claimed he desperately needed. Butler lost both of his parents to the disease. Butler was a lifelong supporter of Kilkenny and kept a picture of himself with his former sporting idol prominently in his home. The court action against Carey has been paused until sentencing proceedings reconvene.
